Phosphogypsum-sulfuric acid co-production cement industry chain

After that, the situation of “1 ton ammonium phosphate 5 tons slag” is expected to fundamentally improve

The reporter learned from the Guizhou Western Group on August 30th that the project “Production Process of Phosphogypsum to Produce Co-production of Sulfuric Acid” jointly developed by Guizhou University and the Group has achieved a major technology for comprehensive utilization of industrial waste slag phosphogypsum. Breakthrough, in order to break through the concept of circular economy in the industry long-term "1 ton of ammonium phosphate 5 tons of slag" formed by the global phosphogypsum treatment problems.

It is understood that the cost of sulfuric acid generated by the above process is only about 1/3 of the cost of pyrite acid production, while the cost of cement is only 2/3 of the cost of cement made of limestone. After this set of technology is put into industrial production, the industrial structure of the company will be further optimized, the competitiveness of the enterprise will be greatly improved, and the organic unity of economic benefits, social benefits, and environmental benefits will be achieved.

According to reports, in the traditional production process, the production of 1 ton of ammonium phosphate produces approximately 5 tons of phosphogypsum, and the Western Group produces more than 2 million tons of compound fertilizer each year, accompanied by millions of tons of industrial waste. The long-term accumulation of phosphogypsum is easy to condense into a block, and its disposal problem is a worldwide problem in the development of phosphorus chemical industry, and it is also a major bottleneck restricting the development of phosphorus and compound fertilizer industry. The current internationally mature solution is to use phosphogypsum as a gypsum block or as a lime retarder. However, because the annual production of phosphogypsum is too large, the market demand for gypsum block and lime retarder is relatively small, so it is difficult to fundamentally solve the problem of phosphogypsum accumulation.

After Guizhou Guiyang Group cooperated with Guizhou University in establishing the Western Technology Research and Development Center in Guizhou last year, it gave full play to the advantages of cooperation between enterprises and universities, and set a new path for solving the problem of phosphogypsum. It was committed to the project of “Production Technology of Phosphogypsum to Produce Co-production of Sulfuric Acid”. , And ultimately achieve major technological breakthroughs. The process mainly uses Guizhou's abundant high sulfur coal resources and phosphogypsum as raw materials to produce high-purity sulfuric acid and cement. It can extract 97% of sulfur from phosphorous gypsum produced in the production of ammonium phosphate to produce sulfuric acid, and then return the sulfuric acid to produce ammonium phosphate or compound fertilizer, forming the waste of the previous product as the next product. The comprehensive utilization of raw materials has achieved a circular economy development model that transforms industrial waste into high value-added products. It is reported that Western Group will apply for national patents in this regard.
