The cement industry is facing a severe situation in energy saving and consumption reduction

In the first half of the year, the total energy consumption of the cement industry ranks among the top few in the national economy. The development of the cement industry has once again become the focus of attention of all parties.

It is reported that the growth rate of new dry-process cement has declined due to the high-speed growth of cement output driven by the sharp increase in fixed asset investment. At the same time, the shaft kiln, which was previously discontinued in some areas, resumed production. The energy saving and consumption reduction in the cement industry in China is grim. The industry believes that accelerating the adjustment of the industry structure and increasing the proportion of advanced technology and equipment are the key to the energy conservation and consumption reduction of the cement industry during the “11th Five-Year Plan” period.

In an interview with the media, China Cement Association President Lei Qianzhi said that the energy consumption of cement is closely related to the production process. During the 10th Five-Year Plan period, China gradually phased out more than 40 million tons of wet-process cement. The domestic energy consumption indicators of some advanced cement production lines are also close to world-class standards. However, in the new round of development, the growth rate of new dry cement has begun to decline. It is understood that in 2003, 2004, and 2005, the new dry clinker capacity increased by 0.8, 1.3, 102 million tons, respectively, the growth rate was 67.94%, 65.05% and 30.88%, but it is expected that the new clinker production capacity of 7500 this year Million tons, the new dry process clinker production capacity growth rate was only 17.4%. According to a report from the China Cement Association, the development of new dry cement will face a low tide without proper support measures.

Industry insiders pointed out that, on the one hand, cement demand has increased significantly. On the other hand, the growth rate of advanced production capacity has slowed down. The result is that the backwardness of the backward production capacity of the cement industry must be slow.

It is understood that as an industry with high energy consumption and overcapacity, from 2004, cement companies have not only failed to approve most new investment projects, but also affected liquidity loans. In this regard, before the proposal of Lei, in the current market conditions, relevant departments should note that the macro-control needs to differentiate between advanced and backward. "The market needs, advanced technology and equipment can't develop, and it can't be eliminated if it's behind, so it's impossible to talk about saving energy and reducing consumption."
