Damen develops mobile marine BWTS

Recently, the Dutch Damen Shipbuilding Group will present the developed mobile ship ballast water treatment (BWT) device at the "Posidonia 2014" Maritime Exhibition in Athens, Greece.
According to the current international regulations, the traditional ship will be modified, and the ship's ballast water treatment device ( BWTS or BWMS) will be installed . Damen InvaSave BWT, which was independently developed by Damen, will become its replacement solution and can be given to the shipowner. Bringing cost savings.
At the same time, Damen has developed the world's first mobile BWT vessel (Barge type) to be operated at the port and is constructing a barge to install "Damen InvaSave BWT", which will operate in the Dutch port (Eemshaven and Delfzijl).
It is understood that if the BWT devices of other merchant ships are not working, the port can provide backup services.
Traditional BWTS is activated when the ship injects or removes ballast water. In contrast, Damen's mobile BWT unit was developed only when the ballast water was removed.
The company also said that the mobile BWTS is not only easy to use, but also in line with the specifications of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the US Coast Guard (USCG).
Recently, the tuning of the relevant mobile BWT system has been successfully completed, and the program is allowed to obtain the Dutch Flag State.
