The report said that soil moisture is an important factor affecting the grain yield in Africa. 80% of Africa's arable land is affected more or less. The use of chemical fertilizers can help solve this problem. However, the report also pointed out that fertilizer prices in many countries in Africa have risen sharply in recent times, and Kenya’s fertilizer prices have doubled in the past month. If fertilizer prices cannot be effectively controlled, it will affect the food production of some African countries.
The report also pointed out that in addition to increasing the use of fertilizers, African farmers should also learn to protect water and soil organic matter.
