Russia: Avdotar Automotive Plant will begin production of modern commercial vehicles
The Avdator Automotive Plant in Kaliningrad, Russia, will formally start production of modern commercial vehicles on September 5, 2012. The commercial vehicles will be produced under the framework of the project of the Avdotal Automotive Plant and Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. The cooperation project began preparations in August 2011. In addition, in June 2012, the Avdotal Automotive Plant began trial production of HD-78 models. Future company plans to produce all modern truck models as well as buses.
It is reported that modern commercial vehicles are currently produced at the Tatarstan Automobile Factory. According to an early report from the Bureau of Automobile Statistics, the Taganrog Automobile Plant produced 473 modern Porter light trucks, 146 modern County buses (a 49.8% drop in output) and eight modern HD tractors in the first half of 2012.
