ABB recently received orders from the United Arab Emirates National Petroleum Construction Corporation (NPCC) to deliver power and telecommunications systems for the Al Nasr overall oilfield development project in Abu Dhabi with an order value of approximately $18 million.
   It is reported that ABB's solution will help NPCC meet the Abu Dhabi Ship Operation Code (ADMA-OPCO) requirements, including the safe operation of seven wellhead towers approximately 130 kilometers northwest of Abu Dhabi.
   In 2015, ABB delivered a seamless distribution system for the project, including a shore power transmission system covering the entire Al Nasr field. The new order will give ABB more than $120 million in the project. ABB will provide electrical equipment, power management and telecommunications systems to ensure the highest efficiency, reliability and safety levels of the project.
   Maintaining an ongoing energy supply and ensuring process operations are very important factors in the oil and gas sector. ABB's power management system will use ABB's market-leading control system (product library purchase) 800xA, seamlessly integrate all large power system components, enabling remote operation, safe and efficient control of grid security. The intelligent asset management system will estimate maintenance, further reduce operating costs and extend service lifecycles, reducing the risk of unplanned outages. ABB's equipment system will be delivered in the second half of 2016.
   At this point, ABB provided support for the concept phase, front-end engineering and design, and the current construction phase of the project, including design, engineering, supply, installation supervision and commissioning.
