4-Alarm fire in Calumet Park, 12-8-17

Here's a firsthand account from Eric Haak:

I arrived at the fire in Calumet Park just over an hour and a half after the first engine response. When I got there, the rear of the building was already under control—probably about 10 minutes after my arrival. After that, there wasn’t much left to do besides monitoring the scene and supporting the remaining units.

As the situation developed, multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including units from Alsip, Riverdale, Merrionette Park, and Orland Fire District. The images captured by Eric show the intensity of the fire, with large flames engulfing parts of the building and crews working hard to contain the blaze. It’s clear that this was a significant incident requiring coordinated efforts from several fire companies.
