With the continuous expansion of the industry scale, domestic high-end CNC machine tools have made significant progress, major breakthroughs have been made in mid-to-high-end products, and the overall level of China's CNC machine tools has been raised. With the rapid development of the industry, problems arose: 1. The level of numerical control is low. At present, the numerical control rate of production value is less than 30%, and the numerical control rate of consumption value is less than 50%, while that of developed countries is about 70%. The supporting components of high-grade CNC machine tools can only be imported. 2. The development of functional components is slow. The performance of functional components directly affects the overall technical level and performance of CNC machine tools, and restricts the development speed of the host. Its development status is closely related to the market competitiveness of machine tools. At present, the development of functional parts enterprises in China is lagging behind; 3. The product structure is low. In terms of the industry as a whole, although the industrial scale is very large, the products are still in the middle and low end of the global industrial chain. The domestic market demand is incompatible with the industry supply capacity, and imported machine tools have entered the domestic market in large numbers.

As the country develops high-end equipment manufacturing as a strategic industry, China will continue to increase investment in this major project during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period. The core technology of high-end CNC machine tools, data systems and functional components will be the main direction of its capital investment. .
