China's Plastic Machinery Industry Overview from January to August 2011
According to statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics on China's 330 large-scale enterprises in the plastics machinery industry, the major economic indicators of China's plastics machinery industry from January to August 2011 were: the gross value of plastics machinery manufacturing industry was 30.748 billion yuan, an increase of 22% year-on-year; The total industrial output value in the second quarter was 12.793 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21% and an increase of 31% from the previous quarter. The sales value of plastics machinery manufacturing industry was 29.461 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23%; of which, the industrial sales value in the second quarter was 120.43 billion yuan, an increase of 19% year-on-year and an increase of 25% from the previous quarter. The export value of the plastics machinery manufacturing industry was 5.085 billion yuan, an increase of 38% over the same period of the previous year; the value of export delivery in the second quarter was 2.048 billion yuan, an increase of 42% year-on-year and an increase of 20% from the previous quarter. From January to July, the main business income of the plastics machinery manufacturing industry was 25.609 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28%; of which, the main business income in the second quarter was 12.256 billion yuan, an increase of 29% from the previous quarter. From January to July, the total profit of the plastics machinery manufacturing industry was 2.358 billion yuan, an increase of 22% year-on-year; of which, the total profit in the second quarter was 1.09 billion yuan, an increase of 26% from the previous quarter. The output of presses was 204,819 units, a year-on-year increase of 10%. Among them, Shanghai's growth rate of 54% year-on-year has become China's fastest growing provinces and cities in the first eight months of 2011.
China's import and export of plastic products from January to August 2011
From January to August 2011, China imported 10,287 Taiwan-based injection molding machines, extruders, blow molding machines, blow molding machines, calendering molding machines, and other major presses, a year-on-year decrease of 1%, but the import amount was approximately US$1.53 billion. The growth rate was 17.09%; the number of exports was 32,704 units, an increase of 15% over the same period of last year, and the export amount was approximately US$920 million, an increase of 31% over the same period of last year. On a quarterly basis, the import and export volume in the first quarter maintained rapid growth. Since entering the second quarter of May, affected by the increase in uncertainties in the international trade environment, the import and export of plastics products have experienced certain fluctuations. In January and August, there was a year-on-year negative growth. Although exports continued to increase positively, the year-on-year increase was noticeably reduced. The average unit price of imports is 150,000 U.S. dollars per unit, which is 5 times the average export unit price of 30,000 U.S. dollars per unit, which is narrower than the price comparison gap between the previous two quarters.
From January to August 2011, the import volume of injection molding machines accounted for 52% of the total imports of China's press equipment, which was less than the import volume of 67% in the first half of the year; the import amount accounted for 40%, which was the same as the import volume in the first half of the year. The export volume and amount of injection molding machines accounted for 48% and 57% of the export of China's press equipment, both of which were lower than the export share of the first half by 2%, but the export volume and amount increased by 37% and 38% respectively.
Among other major presses, the import volume of plastic granulators increased by 146% year-on-year, while the import amount increased by 30% year-on-year, while the import volume and import amount of other extruders increased by as much as 377% and 63% respectively. Although the export volume of blow molding machines decreased by 47% year-on-year, the export amount increased by 61% year-on-year. Among the 11 plastics machinery tax numbers collected, the only one was the equipment with a reduced number of exports and a significant increase in export value.
