Acetic acid producers in China cut production
Industry sources said on December 23 that since the beginning of December, acetic acid producers in China have begun to reduce the operating rate of equipment to ease the pressure of high inventory.
Under this pressure, in early December, more and more acetic acid producers in China were forced to cut production. Jiangsu Thorpe has already lowered the operating rate of its 1.2 million-ton/year acetic acid plant from 100% to 60% in early December. Hualu Hengsheng reduced the operating rate of its 350,000-tonne/year acetic acid plant from 100% to 70% on December 2. Henan Shunda shut down its 400,000-ton/year acetic acid production plant on November 27th. There is still no restart plan.
