Lincolnwood 2-11 Alarm house fire 2-14-11 update

Yesterday's structure fire in Lincolnwood was quite the scene, and Tim Olk was on hand to capture some incredible images. Here's what I saw when reviewing his full gallery, which you can check out [here](#). The first image really captures the intensity of the situation. Heavy smoke billowing out from every possible opening in the ‘B Sector’ gives you a sense of how challenging it must have been for the crews on scene. It looks like things were heating up quickly! In another shot, we see firefighters from Northfield working hard to feed a 2 ½” hose into one of the window wells in that same sector. The officer is even standing inside the well itself, showing just how dedicated they were to getting the right angle of attack. One of my favorite photos shows suburban firefighters being assisted by members of Chicago Squad 2 as they break through the walls of the ‘B Sector’ to access the rooms below. It’s amazing teamwork in action! There’s also an image of firefighters using sledgehammers to demolish the brick facade at the back of the building, creating yet another entry point to tackle the blaze in the basement. That kind of ingenuity is crucial during intense situations like this. Niles firefighters can be seen battling fierce flames in the basement, with smoke venting out of an opening they had created earlier. Their determination shines through in every detail of these photos. Another compelling photo offers a glimpse into the kitchen, where a roof ladder spans a gaping hole in the floor. It’s a reminder of the structural damage that can occur during such fires. Finally, there’s a heartwarming moment captured as members of Chicago Squad 2 pose alongside the 10th Battalion before heading back to the city. It’s a touching reminder of camaraderie amidst chaos. All in all, these images provide a vivid look into the efforts of those who responded to this fire. Each photo tells its own story, highlighting both the danger and the dedication involved.
