Below are some quick photos taken today at 25th and Sacramento in Chicago around 2:11 PM (1/30). As I was walking up, the companies had already made an aggressive interior attack and then quickly went defensive. The first image was captured just a few minutes after the crews evacuated the building, and it looked like conditions deteriorated very quickly.

These images really capture the intensity of the situation. It's clear that the firefighters were working under extremely tough conditions—both the fire and the cold weather added to the challenge. Watching the footage, it’s easy to see why they had to pull back so quickly. The smoke was thick, and the flames were spreading fast. It’s a reminder of how dangerous these incidents can be and how brave the responders are in such situations.
