Reporter: The vertical dryer often faces a common issue during material drying — it tends to get blocked easily. How does your company address this problem?
Tong Tong: This is indeed a significant challenge in the drying process. In our KBDH dynamic vertical dryer, we have developed an anti-blocking system that includes a vibration distribution device, vibration flow adjustment mechanism, and a blocking prevention unit. These innovations have been patented at the national level. By integrating these technologies, we effectively prevent material blockage caused by particles sticking together during drying. Not only does this completely eliminate the clogging issue, but it also enhances heat exchange efficiency by over 40%, ensuring higher drying output and lower coal consumption.
Reporter: As far as I know, this is the first time an automatic microcomputer detection control system has been introduced into a drying system. Could you share what specific measures Cobolt has taken to implement this system?
Tong Tong: The development of the control system was part of a joint project led by Professor Tang Wencheng from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Southeast University. The team has participated in several national 863 projects, National Natural Science Foundation initiatives, and corporate R&D programs. They were responsible for designing the digital model of the drying system. Through theoretical analysis and on-site data collection, they optimized the process parameters and provided accurate solutions for key technologies, such as building a parameter optimization model for the control software.
Reporter: What are the main technical, economic, and socio-economic benefits of the KBDH dynamic vertical dryer?
Tong Tong: The KBDH dynamic vertical dryer offers remarkable advantages. Compared to traditional rotary dryers, it consumes about 40% less coal and uses around 50% less power, with a thermal efficiency of up to 95%. Additionally, it can utilize waste heat from rotary kilns as a heat source, making it highly energy-efficient. This technology plays a vital role in reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable development across multiple industries, including environmental protection, chemical engineering, and steel production.
Reporter: After listening to your introduction, we're very interested in the development of the KBDH dynamic vertical dryer. When can we expect the RBDH Dynamic Vertical Dryer to be available on the market?
Tong Tong: The KBDH dynamic vertical dryer, along with the airbag pulse bag filter and the automatic computer detection control system, is the result of our collaboration with Southeast University. In 2005, we invested 6 million yuan in research and development, including lab tests, prototype development, and the purchase of production equipment. To date, the project has secured two invention patents and six utility model patents, and the technology has been successfully commercialized. Due to its advanced design and wide applicability, it can be used in various industries beyond construction materials. With China facing power shortages and resource constraints, this energy-saving equipment is a game-changer for the cement industry and helps enterprises improve their competitiveness in the market.
