Renault Trucks Completely Upgrades its Product Line in 2006

Renault Trucks introduced two distinct product lines for international markets in 2006, tailored to different emission standards. One series was designed for countries adopting the Euro 4 regulation, while the other targeted regions still using the Euro 3 standard. These models were available across all of Renault Trucks’ product lines and featured brand-new engines, improved power output, and enhanced torque, along with customizable cab equipment that mirrored European market offerings. For specialized applications, Renault Trucks offered simplified versions that provided better solutions in various overseas markets. The company also expanded its range of chassis, varying in reinforcement levels depending on usage, alongside simplified cabs and vehicles specifically designed for challenging environments. The Premium long-haul model came equipped with a DXi11 engine, offering 4x2 and 6x2 Pusher configurations as well as 4x2 and 6x2 chassis options. In the Euro 3 version, the DXi11 engine delivered 330, 380, and 440 horsepower with corresponding torques of 1,650 Nm, 1,800 Nm, and 2,000 Nm. For the Euro 4 version, the engine matched the European specifications, delivering 370, 410, and 450 horsepower. Depending on the power level, the Premium long-haul trucks were fitted with gearboxes such as the 16S1620, 16S1920, and 16S2220, or an optional Optidriver+ system. Two types of drive shafts were available: the P13170 single-stage reduction for optimal fuel efficiency, and the P1395 dual-stage reduction for more demanding applications. The cab design included three steps, available as daytime or sleeper configurations, with features like splash-proof inverters, polycarbonate headlights, a three-section front bumper, new rearview mirrors, and luxury Viscope sunshields. Two cab roof styles were offered—standard and raised height. In the Premium Delivery Series, the DXi7 and DXi11 engines were available with power ratings of 240, 280, and 320 hp (for the DXi7) and 330, 380, and 440 hp (for the DXi11). Gearbox options included the 6S850, 6S1000, and 9S110 for the DXi7, and the 16S1620 TD, 16S1920 TD, and 16S2220 TD for the DXi11. The Premium Delivery Series offered 4x2 and 6x2 chassis, along with 4x2 tractors ranging from 320 to 440 hp. Daytime, universal, and sleeper cabs were designed with two steps, each tailored for specific needs. The cabs featured special air conditioning systems suitable for dusty environments, but lacked sound baffles, layered bumpers, and anti-drilling protection rods. They also did not include driving recorders. The Premium Lander, launched in 2003, was a key export model. In 2006, it received updates including new engines, cabs, and configurations suited for extreme overseas conditions. It featured the DXi11 engine with power outputs of 330, 380, and 440 hp, paired with the same gearboxes as the Euro 4 version. It could also be equipped with the DXi7 engine for 240, 280, and 320 hp. The cab design was similar to the Euro 4 version, with features like a rearview mirror, splash-proof inverter, and polycarbonate headlight glass. The Kerax series was another strong export offering, combining Euro 4 equipment with durability and simplicity. It featured a sturdy cab with new rearview mirrors, splash deflectors, and protective headlight grids. The DXi11 engine was available with power ratings of 330, 380, and 440 hp. The medium and heavy-duty versions included 4x2, 6x4, and 8x4 configurations, with additional models like "Xpert" and "Xtrem" for extreme conditions. These models could be equipped with ABS/EBS and featured electronic control systems that allowed for degraded operation in case of failure. Midlum offered improved cabs with splash-proof converters, new radiators, and updated exterior designs. It featured four power options with DXi5 and DXi7 engines, offering up to 280 hp and 1,050 Nm of torque. The cab included gray bumpers, conventional brakes, and no anti-drilling protection. Interior features included ergonomic seating, storage compartments, and a redesigned dashboard for better driver comfort. Overall, Renault Trucks' export series were carefully tailored to meet the diverse needs of international markets, ensuring reliability, performance, and adaptability in various operating conditions. Whether for long-haul transport, delivery, or off-road use, the company’s comprehensive and professional lineup demonstrated its commitment to quality and innovation.
