Tire label system promotes considerable prospects for energy saving and emission reduction

The EU " Green Tire " mandatory labeling act is divided into two phases. At present, most semi-steel tires in China can meet the EU's first phase standards, and 30% of all steel tires can't be satisfied; in addition, most semi-steel tires in China are not By the second stage of the EU standard, 70% of all steel tires will not reach the second stage standard. In addition to the European Union, the United States, Japan, and South Korea also basically adopt a voluntary, post-mandatory labeling system. It is reported that China's "green tire label" signing bill will also refer to the EU labelling bill system.

According to reports, in February 2012, the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology entrusted the China Rubber Industry Association to formulate China's "green tires" self-discipline and non-compulsory tire labeling grading methods. By the end of 2013, relevant standards and regulations will be introduced and will be accelerated. The “Green Tire” industry self-discipline standards have been upgraded to industry standards and national standards, and voluntary mandatory steps have been adopted. It is expected that the “Green Tire” compulsory classification labeling legislation will be implemented by 2017. Among them, in the non-compulsory grading stage, by 2015, 50% of tire enterprises will strive to achieve the production capacity of “green tires”.

The formulation of domestic “green tires” standards starts from four aspects: green tire product indicators, green tire environmental protection raw material standards, green tire production technology, green tire resources, energy and environmental protection indicators. Among them, the first two indicators are more critical. The formulation of the standard basically refers to the European Union's classification of tires C1/C2/C3. The test method and the setting of limit values are set from the three aspects of rolling resistance, wet grip, and noise, respectively. In particular, the rolling resistance will be fully adopted. EU standards, wet grip, and noise may vary slightly depending on China's national conditions.

The tire label is another labeling system implemented after the energy-saving label for home appliances to promote energy-saving and emission-reduction. It will promote relevant government departments to adopt similar subsidy policies for household appliances and energy-saving vehicles, and carry out classification subsidies according to different levels of energy efficiency.

Among the listed companies, Qixiang Tengda has 150,000 tons of rare earth butadiene rubber production capacity; in the field of highly dispersed white carbon, Ssangyong shares more than 50 years of high-dispersion white carbon production history, with a capacity of 66,000 tons, Longxing Chemical. In the first phase of the construction of 35,000 tons of highly dispersed white carbon black, Black Cat planned to build 60,000 tons of white carbon black; in the field of silane coupling agent, Sibao Technology is constructing 2,000 tons of Si-69 projects.

At present, China's application of high-dispersion silica is still in its infancy in “green tires”, and China has more than 2 million tons of carbon black applied to tires every year. Under the general trend of “green tires”, the replacement of 50% of carbon black with highly dispersed white carbon will produce a demand of more than 1 million tons of highly dispersed white carbon, and the market prospect is very considerable, which warrants long-term attention.
