Plant respiration measurement system for the determination of fruits and vegetables stored at low temperature

When fruits and vegetables are kept fresh and stored at low temperature, people often cover the light to avoid direct storage of fruits and vegetables. It is believed that in the case of refrigerated fruits and vegetables without light, heat can be avoided by light, and photorespiration can be reduced. , To reduce the physiological metabolism of fruits and vegetables is conducive to the storage and transportation of fruits and vegetables, but the actual process of storage and preservation of the real reduction in respiratory intensity, did not see the report to this research and verification. Therefore, the respiratory changes in the storage of fruits and vegetables are affected by the application of the plant respiration measurement system.

The plant respiration measurement system studied the changes of respiration intensity of green, white, and gray-white four kinds of vegetables in the light and dark conditions to determine whether the light affects the physiological metabolism of the fresh-keeping vegetables. The specific steps are as follows: At a preset storage temperature, the test vegetables are first placed in a dark and light condition for 8 hours so that the product temperature is consistent with the test temperature, and then the respiratory intensity in the dark state is measured.

In the fruit and vegetable temperature control experiment box, a light-transmissible sealable vacuum desiccator was used as a breathing apparatus to measure the respiration intensity of isolated vegetables under light and dark test treatments. After the determination of the plant respiration measurement system was completed, the fluorescent light source was immediately turned on, and the average illumination intensity was adjusted to 1800 lx. The same sample was exposed to light for 2 hours and the respiratory intensity was immediately measured. The temperature is then lowered to the next gradient and the dark and light respiratory intensity at that temperature is determined.

Under 1800lx illumination and darkness, two different environmental conditions have significantly different effects on the respiration intensity of isolated green peppers after harvest. Under each temperature gradient, compared with the dark treatment, the breathing intensity of the green peppers after light treatment showed a decreasing trend. The plant respiration system measured the respiratory intensity of the dark peppers was 65.84216 mgCO2/(kg·h) at a temperature gradient of 20°C, and the respiratory intensity decreased to 48.47806 mgCO2/(kg.h) after light treatment, with a very significant difference.
