·Automobile supplier group discussed with Google to build a driverless car

According to the US "Automotive News" reported on January 14th: Internet giant Google Inc. issued a statement at the World Automotive News Conference: The company has begun to discuss autopilot technology cooperation with most of the world's top auto manufacturers, and formed a tradition A team of non-traditional suppliers is accelerating their efforts to bring autonomous vehicles to market within five years.
It is reported that suppliers working with Google include Bosch (one of Germany's largest industrial companies), willing to provide power electronics technology and long-range radar technology; ZF Lenksysteme mainly provides new steering gear technology; LG Group, providing batteries technology. In addition, there are Continental AG and Roush.
Chris Urmson, head of Google's self-driving car program, said that Roush, a engineering and specialty equipment manufacturer based in Michigan, is producing a two-seater, and Google plans to test it on the road this year. Umson also said that Google did not contact large automakers to produce the car. He said: "At some point in the future, we will look for partners to develop the entire vehicle and bring this technology to market." Regarding when this technology will be launched, his answer is: “When ensuring technology is safe and ready.”
Unmson did not give too much detail to the cooperating car manufacturers. But according to Reuters, these automakers include General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Daimler and Volkswagen.
Umson said that the prototype will not be equipped with a steering wheel, accelerator pedal and brake pedal, that is, the car will drive itself, and does not need any operation. However, due to California regulations, a test driver will be provided when the road test is officially carried out. Umson expects that the first full-featured self-driving car will be ready for production within five years.
But Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes that federal law lacks clear regulations on autonomous vehicle technology and may result in auto-driving cars being delayed until 2022 or 2023.
