New engine in Carol Stream

Hey everyone, Just wanted to share some exciting updates about the new Spartan/Alexis engine that’s now operational in Carol Stream. Photo credit: Alexis Fire] --- **Carol Stream Fire Protection District #2156** *Custom Side Control Pumper* Here are the key specs for this impressive rig: - **Chassis:** Spartan Metro Star MFD flat roof chassis - **Engine:** Cummins ISL9, 450-horsepower diesel engine - **Transmission:** Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission - **Body:** Heavy-duty 3/16” aluminum body - **Doors:** ROM roll-up doors on the left side and rear; box-type flush doors on the right side - **Tank Capacity:** 750-gallon poly tank - **Pump:** Hale QMAX150, capable of delivering 1,500 gallons per minute - **Pump Controls:** Side control pump operator's panel - **Discharges:** Seven total discharges—two 2 ½” on the left, one 2 ½” on the right, two 2 ½” at the rear, and two 3” discharges (one on the right and one over the pump for the deck gun) - **Deck Gun:** One Akron Apollo deck gun equipped with stream shapers and stacked tips - **Preconnects:** Two 1 ½” Mattydale preconnects located at the top forward area of the pump module - **Other Features:** A 4” discharge at the rear, a 2 ½” gated suction on the left side, a 24” front bumper extension with a 5” suction inlet and recessed toolbox, two EMS compartments inside the cab, running board hose wells on the left side, dual air bottle compartments, and individual suction hose storage compartments In terms of safety features, we’ve got two Federal GHSCENE scene lights at the rear, two air horns mounted on the front bumper, a Kussmaul 1200 Pump Plus onboard battery charger and air compressor, a Kussmaul Super Auto Eject 120-volt shoreline, a Code 3 electronic siren, a Federal Q2B siren mounted on the front bumper, a Whelen warning light package, and chevron-pattern striping at the rear. The dimensions of the vehicle are as follows: - Overall height: 10 feet 1 inch - Overall length: 31 feet 7 inches - Wheelbase: 186 inches - Cab to axle: 132 inches - Front axle weight rating (FAWR): 20,000 pounds - Rear axle weight rating (RAWR): 27,000 pounds - Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR): 47,000 pounds And let’s not forget the practical touches like turtle tiles on the floors and shelves, which make cleaning and maintenance easier.
