3-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 5-14-00

I wanted to share some old photos from a major fire that happened on May 14, 2000. The incident took place at 71st and Wabash in Chicago. These images were scanned from original film negatives I own. They were taken by a photographer from the Sun-Times, though I don't have the name of the person who captured them. The condition of the photos was quite poor, so I spent a lot of time cleaning up scratches and other imperfections. However, I still haven’t managed to remove all of them. You might recognize some faces in these pictures, including a younger version of Father Mulcrone. It's always interesting to see how things have changed over the years.
