Tri-State FPD added to the site

The Tri-State Fire Protection District, part of MABAS Division 10, has recently been added to our site. This fire district operates out of four strategically located stations, equipped with two state-of-the-art medic units, four robust engines, a versatile tower ladder, and a dedicated battalion chief vehicle. Their frontline medic units are supplied by Horton, while their suppression vehicles come from a mix of reputable manufacturers like Crimson, Pierce, and Smeal. The district serves various areas including Darien, Burr-Ridge, Willowbrook, and parts of unincorporated DuPage County.
Station 3, one of their key facilities, is situated at 10S110 Madison Street in Burr Ridge. It’s here where you’ll find this station bustling with activity, thanks to its central location and essential role in emergency response. A unique feature of Tri-State is that they maintain their own dispatch team, who operate efficiently from Station 2. These professionals ensure timely responses, which are crucial during emergencies.
If you’re interested in their fleet, it’s worth noting that Tri-State runs a compact Crimson squad vehicle out of Station 2, complete with a rear pump. This vehicle plays a vital role in their operations, providing additional support when needed. Their tower ladder, known as Unit 539, stands tall and ready to assist in situations requiring elevated access. Meanwhile, Engine 511, another critical component of their fleet, is always prepared for action. For those who appreciate the history and evolution of firefighting equipment, it's interesting to note that Tri-State also had an older Pierce Arrow engine, Engine 583, which underwent significant rehabilitation before being retired as a reserve unit. A delivery photo of this vehicle shows its past glory, now set to be decommissioned entirely.
