New engine in Carol Stream

Hey everyone, Just got some exciting updates from the Carol Stream Fire Protection District regarding their new Spartan/Alexis engine! The build is officially complete, and it's looking fantastic. The rig stands tall and sleek, showcasing its custom design and powerful features.] --- **Carol Stream Fire Protection District #2156** **Custom Side Control Pumper** This pumper is nothing short of impressive. Here’s a breakdown of what’s under the hood: - **Chassis:** Spartan Metro Star MFD with a flat roof design - **Engine:** Cummins ISL9, delivering 450 horsepower - **Transmission:** Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission - **Body:** Heavy-duty 3/16” aluminum construction The body itself is designed for maximum efficiency and durability. On the left side and rear, you’ll find ROM roll-up doors, while the right side sports box-type flush doors. Inside, there’s plenty of room for all your gear. Key features include: - A robust 750-gallon poly tank - A powerful Hale QMAX150 pump capable of 1500 gallons per minute - A side control pump operator’s panel - Five 2 ½” discharges (two on the left, one on the right, and two in the rear) - Two 3” discharges—one on the right side and another above the pump for the deck gun - An Akron Apollo deck gun equipped with a stream shaper and stacked tips For EMS response, there are two preconnects located at the top forward area of the pump module, each measuring 1 ½”. There’s also a 4” discharge at the rear and a 2 ½” gated suction on the left side. Other notable additions include: - A 24” front bumper extension with a 5” suction port and recessed toolbox - Two EMS compartments with roll-up doors and shelves inside the cab - Running boards with a hose well that holds up to 30 feet of 5” hose on the left side - Dual air bottle compartments on either side of the wheel wells - Individual suction hose storage compartments in the hose bed area - Ladder storage brackets on the right side The interior is equipped with turtle tile flooring, which not only looks great but provides excellent protection against wear and tear. For visibility, there are two Federal GHSCENE scene lights at the rear and two air horns mounted on the front bumper. Powering everything is a Kussmaul 1200 Pump Plus, serving as both an onboard battery charger and air compressor. You’ll also find a Kussmaul Super Auto Eject 120-volt shoreline, a Code 3 electronic siren, and a Federal Q2B siren mounted on the front bumper. The warning light package comes courtesy of Whelen, and the rear features a Chevron-patterned stripe. Dimensions-wise, this beast measures 10’ 1” in height, 31’ 7” in overall length, and boasts an impressive wheelbase of 186 inches. The cab-to-axle distance is 132 inches, with a front axle weight rating (FAWR) of 20,000 pounds and a rear axle weight rating (RAWR) of 27,000 pounds. All this adds up to a whopping gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 47,000 pounds! Big thanks to Martin for sharing these updates.
