This message comes from Eric Haak: Early this morning at 0715 hours (January 8th), the Chicago Fire Department received an emergency call regarding a fire at a two-and-a-half-story wooden apartment building located at 4734 West Huron Street. The structure measures 20 by 70 feet. Engine 117 was dispatched and arrived on the scene in under a minute, confirming that there was indeed a fire. Shortly after, Battalion 18 also arrived and reported extensive fire damage extending to the porches on both the first and second floors of the building. The fire had also spread to the "D" side of the building, prompting a request for additional resources. Eventually, the fire alarm was escalated to a 2-11 status.
