Josh Boyajian sent in some pictures he took with his phone this morning of a garage fire in Cicero. It happened in the 3400 block of 61st Avenue. From what I can gather, it looks like the flames were pretty intense. Josh mentioned that he saw firefighters working hard to get things under control when he passed by.
There’s definitely a lot of smoke and visible damage in these photos. You can see how the fire affected part of the structure—looks like it really took a toll on the building.
The photos give a good sense of just how quickly fires can spread, especially in residential areas. It’s always tough to see propertyå—æŸ, but thankfully there were no reports of injuries that I’ve heard about yet.
It's moments like these that highlight the importance of having working smoke detectors and emergency plans in place. It looks like the fire department did their best to contain the situation, but unfortunately, these kinds of accidents happen all too often.
