Multi-functional food grinder soy milk cup mesh breakage treatment

A Shanghai-made Hailing brand HL-16 multi-functional food crusher has been in use for three years. All functions work well, except for the soy milk cup, which is not very durable. The soy milk cup consists of a hollow plastic container and a mesh screen. When the machine was new, there was no residue or sediment in the soy milk. However, after one year of use, the mesh screen near the blade became damaged, causing leakage of the pulp through the broken area.
Due to rapid product turnover, it's now difficult to find a suitable soy milk cup. As a result, the machine that once made soy milk has become more of a decorative item, used only occasionally to grind chili powder or pepper.
The only way to restore the soy milk function is to repair the damaged screen, as replacement parts are no longer available. The author successfully repaired an oil filter screen that had been damaged by a hydraulic system. Using the same method, the soy milk cup screen can also be fixed.
Here’s how it was done: First, wash and dry the soy milk cup. Then mix equal amounts of two-part adhesive (A and B glue) and apply it to the broken area. Let it cure at room temperature for 48 hours. Since the two-part adhesive bonds well with both the plastic cup and the mesh screen, and the repair area is small, it doesn’t affect the filtering performance. The result is just as good as when the cup was new, and it can be repaired again if needed.
The main component of the two-part adhesive is epoxy resin. Whether it is safe for use in food contact depends on its toxicity. A quick online search shows that "non-toxic epoxy resin" is available, so it's safe to use. (However, it should be noted that A and B glue isn't just made of epoxy resin — this is an important detail added by the editor.)
