Industry Construction Project Management Professional Committee established the honorary president of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association Tan Zhuzhou to celebrate

On December 8, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association's Construction Project Management Committee held its inaugural general meeting in Beijing, marking the official establishment of this specialized body. Tang Zhuzhou, the association’s honorary president, who sent a special message of congratulations, emphasized that the new committee will play a vital role in promoting the scientific management of engineering construction projects within the petroleum and chemical industry, as well as maximizing the benefits of fixed asset investment. According to reports, since the 1970s, China’s petroleum and chemical industries have experienced sustained and rapid growth. It is anticipated that over the next five to ten years, the sector will continue to grow steadily, with an even greater demand for capital construction and technological upgrades. This highlights the increasing importance of efficient project management and coordination. Yuan Xin, newly elected chairman of the committee, told reporters that infrastructure investment currently accounts for about 50% of the national GDP, and the capital construction in the petrochemical industry remains massive. Major central government-owned petrochemical enterprises alone invest hundreds of billions of yuan annually in construction projects, while local governments across the country launch countless petrochemical initiatives. The formation of this professional committee aims to provide feedback and support services to both the government and industry stakeholders, enhancing communication and optimizing resource allocation. It is reported that the Construction Project Management Professional Committee has already attracted 40 member organizations, reflecting strong industry interest and commitment. With its growing membership and clear mission, the committee is expected to become a key player in shaping the future of project management in China’s energy and chemical sectors.
