Industry Construction Project Management Professional Committee established the honorary president of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association Tan Zhuzhou to celebrate

On December 8, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association Construction Project Management Committee held its inaugural general meeting in Beijing, marking the official establishment of the professional committee. Tang Zhuzhou, the association’s honorary president, who sent a special message of congratulations, emphasized that the new committee will play a vital role in promoting the scientific management of petrochemical engineering projects and maximizing the benefits of fixed asset investment. According to reports, since the 1970s, China's petroleum and chemical industries have experienced sustained and rapid growth. It is anticipated that over the next five to ten years, the industry will continue to develop steadily, with an increasing demand for capital construction and technological upgrades. Yuan Xin, the newly elected chairman of the committee, told reporters that infrastructure investment currently accounts for about 50% of China’s GDP, and the capital construction in the petrochemical sector remains substantial. Major central government-owned petrochemical enterprises alone invest hundreds of billions of yuan annually in capital construction, while projects launched by local governments nationwide are even more extensive. The formation of this specialized committee aims to provide feedback and support services to both the government and industry stakeholders. It is reported that the membership of the Construction Project Management Professional Committee has already reached 40, reflecting the growing interest and importance of structured project management in the sector. The committee is expected to become a key platform for knowledge sharing, policy guidance, and industry collaboration, helping to ensure the sustainable and efficient development of China’s petrochemical industry.
