Anritsu offers handheld mobile WiMAX test solutions

Anritsu has launched the first handheld mobile WiMAX test solution, specifically designed to support the deployment, installation, and maintenance of mobile WiMAX networks. By integrating mobile WiMAX testing capabilities into the BTSMaster and SpectrumMaster platforms, this tool empowers field engineers, technicians, and contractors to conduct precise RF, demodulation, and over-the-air (OTA) measurements on WiMAX signals. This innovation enhances efficiency and accuracy in real-world network environments.
The mobile WiMAX measurement functionality is available in three distinct options, offering users flexibility when configuring their instruments. The Mobile WiMAX RF Measurement Option enables the measurement of transmitter signal strength and signal shape. When enabled, these handheld analyzers can perform channel spectrum analysis, power versus time (for frame lengths of 5ms and 10ms), and ACPR measurements. It also provides a detailed table-based interface for reviewing results.
For more in-depth analysis, the Mobile WiMAX Demodulation Option allows engineers to evaluate OFDMA signals. It displays vector constellations (QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM), spectral flatness, EVM vs. subcarrier relationships, EVM pair symbol relationships, and automatically decodes DLMAP. A detailed modulation result table is also available, giving engineers comprehensive insights into signal quality.
The Mobile WiMAX Air Interface Measurement Option includes channel power monitoring, which helps analyze power levels over time and within specific intervals for a given channel. This feature can be paired with GPS functionality to embed location and time data into measurements, enabling geographic mapping. Anritsu’s MasterSoftwareTools software seamlessly integrates with MapInfo Professional and Microsoft MapPoint, making it easy to visualize and analyze data on maps.
These options are compatible with the MT8222A BTSMaster and the SpectrumMaster MS2721B, MS2723B, and MS2724B analyzers. The MT8222A weighs under 9 pounds, making it the smallest, lightest, and most cost-effective solution for full 2G/3G/4G base station testing. The MS272xB series offers ultra-portable spectrum analysis up to 7.1GHz, 13GHz, and 20GHz respectively. With wide frequency coverage, excellent sensitivity, and multiple resolution bandwidths, these analyzers are ideal for demanding field conditions.
Anritsu continues to expand its commitment to advancing new technologies by introducing mobile WiMAX testing solutions. Earlier this year, they launched the world's first handheld fixed WiMAX test solution, and they also provide test tools for the design and manufacturing of WiMAX devices and systems.
At the time of launch, the lead time was 4–6 weeks after receiving an order, and it was reduced to 2–4 weeks after two months. This reflects Anritsu’s dedication to meeting market demand efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
