Ink Chemicals Acquires Brazilian DVG Shares

According to Xinhua News Agency, Mexican chemical company Mexichem has recently made a significant move in the Latin American market by announcing the acquisition of 70% of the shares in Brazil's DVG Plastics Products Co., Ltd. The deal was carried out through Mexichem's subsidiary Amanco Brasil, and the company plans to acquire the remaining 30% over the next three years, aiming for full control of the Brazilian firm. DVG Plastics is a key player in the production of PVC pipes used for water supply and drainage systems, as well as other construction-related materials, including those used in agriculture, irrigation, and power infrastructure. In 2007, the company reported sales of $61 million, with its products primarily exported to the southeastern, central, and northeastern regions of Brazil. Mexichem stated that this strategic acquisition will help strengthen its presence in Latin America, particularly in Brazil, one of the region’s largest and most dynamic markets. By integrating DVG into its operations, Mexichem aims to enhance its product portfolio and expand its distribution network across South America. This move also reflects the growing trend of cross-border consolidation in the plastics and construction sectors, driven by the need for efficiency and regional market expansion.
