MAN B&W provides hosting for the largest LNG ship

B&W Diesel is set to supply the propulsion system for a fleet of six 266,000 cubic meter LNG vessels constructed by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Ocean Engineering. These ships represent the largest LNG carriers currently in operation worldwide, showcasing cutting-edge technology and engineering excellence. Each vessel will be powered by two MAN B&W 7S70 ME-C electronically controlled two-stroke low-speed diesel engines, designed for high efficiency and environmental compliance. The 12 engines in total will be produced by Doosan Engine Co., Ltd., delivering a maximum output of 21,770 kW at a rotational speed of 91 rpm. In addition to the main engines, each LNG ship will also feature four MAN B&W 9L32/40 Holeby generator sets, manufactured by South Korea's STX Shipbuilding Corporation. This collaboration highlights the global nature of modern shipbuilding, bringing together top-tier manufacturers from different countries to deliver state-of-the-art maritime solutions. With these advanced systems, the vessels are expected to operate efficiently and sustainably, meeting the growing demand for clean energy transportation across the globe.
